No. The MiTag should be placed in a shaded area so it does not get direct sun which will provide you with a true ‘ambient temperature’ as opposed to ‘direct surface temperature’. This would be true for pretty much any temperature sensing produce since direct sun exposure radiates heat into the product thus rising surface temperature.
